The Union of the Somali National Authors (USNA)

The Union of the Somali National Authors was organized on 1st of January, 2010 by Elite Somali Intellectuals and Academicians who have seen that there has been need to collect, archive and revive Somalia’s literature and literary works in the globe.

1. Professor Said Salah Ahmed (born in Somalia) is internationally acclaimed writer of 6 books and published many papers. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

2. Honorable Dr. Nuradin Farah (born in Somalia) is internationally acclaimed writer of 14 books and published many papers. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

3. Dr. Badal Kariye (born in Somalia) is internationally acclaimed writer of 107 books and published many papers. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

4. Honorable Professor Abdulramna Waberi (born in Djibouti) is internationally acclaimed writer of 10 books and published many academic articles. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

5. Honorable Hawo Aden Mohamed is the internationally renowned winner of the UNHCR Nanzen Prize. (Indebted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

6. Honorable Dr. Hawo Abdi Dhiblawe was named the Glomour Magazine as the Woman of the Year 2010 among her daughters and she has won the Women of the Impact from WITW plus BET’s Social Humanitarian Award & the John Jay Medal for Peace. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

7. Honorable Al-Ustad Ahmed Naji is the internationally renowned Somali Musician, Lyricist and poet for more than 40 years. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

8. Ex- President Honorable Sheikh Sharif Sheikh Ahmed is the Somalia’s Last Transitional Federal President of the Republic of Somalia who step down and transferred power to the Democratically elected President of the Federal Republic of Somalia his Excellency Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on August 20, 2013 peacefully. 9. Honorable Maryan Mursal is the internationally renowned musician, artist, Lyricist and poet for more than 40 years. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

10. K’NaN is the Internationally renowned Somali Canadian Musician. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2012)

11. Honorable Fowsia Haji Aden is the internationally renowned diplomat who became the first Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia on October 10, 2013 in the Horn of African Nations and the First among Arab League States to take up the title of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federal Republic of Somalia. 14. Honorable Awes M. Abti was is one of the three Somali grandmasters of martial arts who decided to reopen the Somali Karate & Taekwondo Association in 1997 at Hawo Tako School. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2013

Honorable Amina Muse Weheliye is one of the few Somali journalists who rejected to work with in a hostike world where she did not feel that there was something right then she decided to leave her job in order to organize Diasporas awareness to return home and make peace as well as investing local economic while she also encouraged Somali people to learn Somali literature. 16. Honorable Abdi Mahay is one of Somalia’s most philanthropic volunteer to come forward and save needy children in Somalia for medical treatments, and he is truly amazing to overcome many challenges to help the needy children in Somalia and around the neighboring countries. 17. Honorable Fadumo Jamac Jabril is Somalia’s best conservator for environmental issues and conservation. She became a voice for us to learn and converse environment. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2013

18. Honorabe Sheikh Mustafa Haji Ismail is Somalia’s best Islamic & Secular Scholar who decided to preach and spread Islamic Creed locally, regionally and globally, and we are deeply thanking him for his bravery and clear vision to teach and preach others in need to repent and forgive each other. (Enlisted to the Somali Hall of Fame on November 1, 2013

On behalf of the Union of Somali National Authors (USNA) and the Somali People, we are officially requesting to the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia H.E. Hassan Sheikh Mohamud to award these above-mentioned exceptional and extraordinary personalizes, and let’s appoint them to be the first Somali Board of Education (SBE). They are the most honorary citizens of the Republic of Somalia who can and will have access to meet with you to share their concerned issues to help Somali people locally, regionally and universally.
